A new area for the Bitou Busters to work

Michael Rowe Walk Hawks nest

Saturday 26 July was a beautiful morning and Bitou Busters took full advantage of it clearing Bitou and lots of rubbish from the dune in front of the car park at the end of Sanderling Avenue Hawks Nest.

BB's found “jewels”, and several full bottles of ale and a bottle of wine were discovered!

A few ticks were uncovered on a number of BB's bodies later during the morning.

A second group took on the more difficult task of opening up the southern end of the Michael Rowe Memorial Walk at the northern end of the car park.

While the group moved ahead on the track lopping and chopping, others worked on giant old clumps of Bitou.

By the end of the morning the BB's were feeling very satisfied with there achievements but were very aware that there is so much more to do - next month, and the next……

Jill Madden the BB coordinator thanked everyone for their effects working on this neglected site getting the attention it deserves.
