Bitou Busters back for new session

There was a fabulous turnout for the Hawks Nest and Tea Garden's Bitou Busters’ first session of 2016.

On Saturday 2 April, 19 volunteers gathered at Yamba Street, East Hawks Nest where a number of new members were warmly welcomed by the group before they all headed off to work.

The group split into two, one team tackling the regrowth and weed seedlings at the back of the Winda Woppa play park where the Bitou Busters weeded and planted last year.

The second group worked removing bitou and asparagus at the western half of The Boulevard opposite Jacabba Street.

A big thank you to the Great Lakes Council who supplied the Bitou Busters with new vests for better visibility for both drivers and pedestrians
