The Moulamein Cropping Group, has two areas of interest. Firstly to look at production using irrigation water restricted to autumn availability and secondly investigating alternate industries that suit crop production under high yield situations.
Projects
The aim of this project is to compare a range of moisture monitors on the market and find the most user friendly and reliable monitor to schedule irrigations in winter cropping. Irrigation water is becoming the most limiting resource in cropping and we are aiming to use it at the most beneficial times.
The project aims to improve soil structure on sodic soils in a typical rice and winter cereal rotation.
