Plantings in 2015

Students under the direction of our new Jr Landcare guide Ms Charlotte Watson have used Tree Planting Day to extend our plantings in the Black Creek Flood Plain

Students marked Tree Planting Day by planting trees and shrubs in an area beside a wetland area on the Black Creek Flood Plain after the April floods. In the future the trees will provide a protection against erosion and offer habitat to water fowl and other bird life. Students should be able to see the fruits of their labour by the time they complete their year 12 studies.

An exciting aspect to this planting is that Cessnock Toyota has undertaken to support this and future tree planting days, providing an ongoing source for plants into the future. Thank you.
