Managing woodland weeds can be a challenge, especially in areas of high conservation value. But having a good plan is the key to success.

The Friends of Adams Lead Reserve would like to invite groups and individuals committed to the restoration of native vegetation to a workshop on weed management plans.

The workshop is aimed at facilitating participants to develop effective Weed Management Plans.

Jacqui Stol from CSIRO, an expert in Woodland Restoration, Pat Rojas, an experienced workshop facilitator, and Rosemary Hadaway, Adams Lead Weed Management Plan project consultant,

will present the hands-on workshop.

Participants will have an opportunity to discuss the many aspects of weed management, explore the latest methods and extend their knowledge and work on developing their own Weed Management Plans.

Attendees will come away with a greater understanding of weeds and their impacts, practical methods for weed management in woodland restoration and a draft action plan for managing weeds in woodlands.

The Weed Management Plan workshop will be held at Red Hill Environmental Education Centre, Tom Saunders Ave. Gulgong, on Saturday, 4 June at 9am for a 9:30am start and will finish at 3:30pm.

To book your place contact Phyllis Setchell by email at prpatita500@gmail.com or phone 0427 920 887 by 5pm Monday 25 May.

Morning tea and lunch will be provided. Bring along any woodland weed and management information resources that you have.

Attendance to the workshop is free due to the support of Mudgee District Environment Group and generous funding from Mid-Western Regional Council.
